Beyond Blind Institute offers cooking lessons for the blind and visually impaired.

Joyce Gugel, founder of Beyond Blind Institute, a non-profit organization for the blind and visually impaired, along with Whole Foods of Palm Beach Gardens, organizes cooking lessons for the blind with two of Palm Beach's most sought after chefs.  Chef Ryan Trinkofsky and Chef James Hayek can be found from time to time teaching blind students basic cooking lessons, knife skills, how to choose vegetables and starches to go with certain proteins, among other chef skills.  

During this lesson, students learned to sear sea scallops to a perfect golden brown, as well as season, sear, and cook lamb to the proper temperature.  Believe me when I tell you I was nothing short of amazed watching these wonderful students fearlessly navigate hot pans and sharp knives to complete their stunning dishes.

Chefs Compete at Cheney Brothers Show

Chefs Ryan Trinkofsky and Chef James Hayek compete in the culinary competition at the Cheney Brothers Inc. food show yesterday.  Cooking for the Beyond Blind Institute, Chef Trinkofsky and Chef Hayak were allowed just 40 minutes to prepare a beautiful "Rack of Veal" entree for the judges, using only two hot plates and a toaster oven.

Due to an unusual about of rain here in South Florida, we here at Olde McDonald's farm have inherited two beautiful ducks.  They're fun to watch and definitely a welcome addition to the homestead.  I hope they'll be staying here for awhile!!

I enjoyed a morning shooting exotic cars at Lamborghini of Palm Beach.  This is a subject that I love to shoot, whether they're on the racetrack or in a parking lot.  I'll have new shots soon using a rig I built to shoot from the car while it's in motion.  I'm building relationships with car owners now, so if you're interested in scheduling a photoshoot for your car, please feel free to call me for an appointment.

Memorial Day Services

I had the opportunity to visit the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth for the Memorial Day services on May 27th 2013.  It was vary well organized, and an astounding number of visitors for the ceremony.  There was a ballon release to remember those lost to Agent Orange, a military helicopter flyover, the Wellington High School Band, as well as several motorcycle clubs to show their support and thanks to those who have payed the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.  Below are some of the images from the day.
